About us

Manchester Active Voices seek to offer young Women within our community the opportunity to work within established strategic frameworks, developing the transferable skills necessary to become effective leaders within their schools, homes and communities.

There are three strands which run central to the success of all our programmes:

  • Civic Participation
  • Empowerment
  • Leadership

The Manchester Active Voices Youth Empowerment Programme is rooted in a community development approach, based on the belief that the success and sustainability of any activity  depends on local support, local resources and specified approaches to local needs.

It is essential that we work towards enabling young Women to move from a position of social alienation to one of empowerment. We encourage all  to share their experiences, aspirations, concerns and ideas – but not just to voice their concerns but to work towards change within the areas that concern them.
