354July 2010 saw Manchester Active Voices FIRST Leadership residential, taking place in the Peak District with 10 young people.

The aim of the programme is to empower young people by way of participating in team building exercises, developing leadership and management skills, gaining awareness social issues and refining the skills that will be necessary to succeed in all areas of life. All of this is intertwined with challenging activates to drive the lessons learnt home.

All 10 participants successfully completed the course, receiving a Level 1 qualification in ‘Leadership and Management’, accredited from one of the country’s leading Management schools.

Building healthy working relationships is a vita part of both professional and working life. All participants enrolled on the programme as strangers, but have since developed enduring friendships.

During the programme inspirational leaders from various industries came and shared form their wealth of knowledge and experiences.
All participants have since met up with mentors to ensure they stay on target and regularly meet with MAV members to organise future events, feedback on the programme and spread the word.

To celebrate the success of the group we have a Graduation ceremony.
